Welcome to Samuel’s Mantle!

May this year begin (or continue) a process that will change your life, your relationship with God and how you see the world around you.

The curriculum of Samuel’s Mantle is meant to build from one level of knowledge to the next. It is very much like building a house! First you put in your foundation. Then you add the floor, walls, and the roof. Finally the windows, doors, and electricity.

1st year

• Aligning our paradigms with God’s
• Learning to understand symbolism and recognize God’s action in the physical world
• Proper use of the imagination
• The emotions of the Spirit: burden bearing and discernment

2nd year

**prerequisite – completion of 1st year** 

• Understanding and interpreting dreams and visions
• How to have dreams and visions and how to move from dream to vision
• Pastoring the presence of God and following His leading

3rd year

**prerequisite – completion of 1st year & 2nd year**
The goal of Samuel’s Company is maturity: maturity in the application of Samuel’s Mantle material, the ability to flow with the Holy Spirit, and to function as a safe prophetic community.

Small group work will be a prime focus as all of the SAM material (dream, vision, timelines, prophecy, etc) is applied in small groups of people who desire to become skilled with what they have learned so far.

Outreach, guest teachers, prophetic activations, will be incorporated as well.

4th year

**prerequisite – completion of 1st year & 2nd year & 3rd year**
The goal of Samuel’s Company is maturity: maturity in the application of Samuel’s Mantle material, the ability to flow with the Holy Spirit, and to function as a safe prophetic community.

Discovering the Spiritual Meaning Behind Everyday Events.

Keepers of the Presence of God

Christian Leadership University Transfer Agreement  Christian Leadership University will accept official transcripts sent from Samuel’s Mantle to CLU. A student may request this transcript be sent at the conclusion of year 3 (or earlier if desired). A $25 minimum transfer fee is required by CLU, and this will cover all three years of Samuel’s Mantle work, if the transcript is sent at the conclusion of the 3rd year. Each year of completed Samuel’s Mantle training (including submission of completed homework to Samuel’s Mantle) can be transferred to CLU as being worth 12 credits per year. Students desiring a degree from CLU will need to enroll with CLU, and take a minimum of 1 course directly with CLU. The remaining credits for a bachelors, masters or doctoral degree can come from Transcripts from other schools, a Life Experience Portfolio and a Transcript from Samuel’s Mantle. This can all be finalized and formalized after they have completed all Samuel’s Mantle training (or earlier if they wish).   Fees: •    CLU enrollment is $25: https://cluonline.com/apply/ •    Transfer of Transcripts: $25, $50 or $75 depending on how many credits are being transferred from various colleges. Complete degrees are accepted with no transfer fee. •    Life Experience Credits: $13.33 per credit awarded •    CLU Graduation Degree Preparation and mailing: $75 for each degree (Bachelors, Masters, Doctoral). The most likely degree title for Samuel’s Mantle students would be in “Prophetic Ministry.” •    One CLU course: Range of $300 – $400 depending on course selected. The “Communion With God Course” is the normal course requested unless one desires to seek to waive it and do another. The steps to waiving the course are: stating that you have read the entire book “4 Keys To Hearing God’s Voice” by Mark and Patti Virkler, and state that you have your three spiritual advisors in place and are bouncing your journaling off them on a regular basis, and submitting by email 6 examples of two-way journaling to CLU demonstrating that you clearly are hearing and recording what God is speaking to you. •     The complete CLU catalog with all policies and listing of the 100 courses which may be considered as you select your one CLU course, can be freely downloaded from WWW.CLUonline.com (Opens in new window.) Murray Dueck received his Bachelor of Religious Education from Columbia Bible College. He is the founder of Samuel’s Mantle Prophetic Training School, an organization that has trained thousands of people throughout BC and online, in learning to hear Gods’ voice through local classes, seminars, and online training. Murray currently is writing, doing itinerant work, and is the main teacher for most of the classes in Samuel’s Mantle. He is the author of ‘If This Were A Dream, What Would It Mean?’, “Keepers of the Presence” and “On Things Above”. Murray resides in Chilliwack, BC with his wife Jaye.

 

Trish Warren has been involved with Samuel’s Mantle since its inception in the year 2000.   She joined Samuel’s Mantle staff in 2006. Trish’s passion in life is equipping and training, and her mission in life is to “inspire, empower and compel people to move into and do what they are passionate about”. Trish wears many hats in Samuel’s Mantle; she is Samuel’s Mantle’s COO and Marketing Director, and she also is in charge of Samuel’s Mantle’s Charity status, and does all the tax filing, registration for classes, etc. Occasionally you will see her teaching in a class or 2 on dreams (one of her favourite topics).  Her and Bruce are also the pastors of Catch the Fire Okanagan.

Volunteers / Subs

Luc Deschamps has been involved for many years with Samuel’s Mantle. He has many years of experience with church leadership and his passion is to see people lives transformed by the Father Heart of God. He was ordained as a priest with the Episcopal Church in 2006 and is presently on the teaching team of Friends Langley Vineyard and Samuel’s Mantle. He is happily married to his lovely wife Pamela for 33 years and has 3 wonderful children.

Eric Janzen is a worship leader and teacher at Freshwind Christian Fellowship. He is passionate about hearing God’s voice and enjoys helping others discover all of the different ways in which God speaks to us today. In his spare time he is a writer, author of two books, “Ever They Fight” and “Fragments”, the first two books in his Dreamtrekker Journals series, and author of numerous articles on Christian spirituality which can be read on the Clarion Journal of Spirituality and Justice website. He lives in Abbotsford, BC with his wife and two daughters.

Eric McCooeye has been involved with Samuel’s Mantle from it’s inception speaking into leadership, covering with prayer, and teaching on the resting place.  Eric enjoys prophetic outreach and has worked with Samuel’s Mantle in this area. Eric is in contact with various ministries and people looking for avenues to impact the region with the voice of the Lord and the heart of God.

Paul Taylor brings over 30 years of pastoral ministry experience to the team of Samuel’s Mantle. He has a deep passion to hear and respond to the heart of The Lord. He loves to see others trained to understand “the whisper of the Spirit” and be transformed by The Spirits touch. Living in Kelowna, Paul enjoys life with his wife Marilyn, their two children, three grandchildren and an occasional round of golf.

Jon Paul Vooys is a musician, graphic artist and web designer. He is our web designer, and he keeps us up to date on the website with the technical / design side of things.

Bruce Warren graduated from Western University where he studied Sociology, and then we went on to Regent College, where he studied Biblical Studies. Bruce is the Technical Producer for Samuel’s Mantle – you will find him at our events making the sounds sound amazing, and in our office – trouble shooting technical issues! He also is the pastor of Catch the Fire Okanagan, and can be found leading worship at our conferences. Bruce lives in Kelowna with his wife Trish, has 5 kids – with 2 at home still.

 

Sonya Yamanaka is Samuel’s Mantle’s intercessor. Her flagging ushers in the presence of God wherever she goes. Sonya travels to different countries doing ministry and interceding for organizations.

Partnering with Samuel’s Mantle

Some people ask why Samuel’s Mantle was started, here is Murray’s explanation:

I was praying about what to do next after I had finished my last assignment when God very clearly spoke into my spirit. “There is coming a new wind of my Spirit into the Fraser Valley and the language of this wind will be signs and wonders and dreams and vision (as stated by Acts 2).” If my people receive my language in this coming season then they will be able to hear what I am telling them to do. However if they do not know how I speak and value how I speak this wind can blow right by them and they will not even know I am moving.” The Lord then gave me a picture of a sailboat with its sail up surging forward in the sea as the wind drove it onward, and then a picture of a sailboat with its sail down not moving at all…even though the wind was blowing just as hard. The Lord then spoke again, “build me a place where I can teach my people in this valley to hear my voice and understand my ways.” Prepare my people to understand my voice and my ways so that they can ride the wind of my Spirit.” Thus Samuel’s Mantle was born.

FAQ’s

If I don’t live in Abbotsford or Vancouver, may I take the courses online? Yes! You have two options. You may purchase pre-recorded videos or audios, or you may register for the live online training. (See web home page for more info.)

Is Samuel’s Mantle Training a charitable organization? Yes.

If I donate money to Samuel’s Mantle, will I get a tax receipt at the end of the year? Yes, we are a “registered” charity. Donation receipts are issued once a year in February.

Can I take Samuel’s Mantle even if I’m not prophetic? In Samuel’s mantle you will learn God speaks to everyone.

On your website, it says ‘Prophetic Training for people who ‘don’t’ hear God. What if I do hear God, and I just want more advanced training? Don’t be fooled by that line. It’s just there because we have so many people coming to us who think they can’t hear God. We take great pleasure in teaching people that God loves them and really has a lot to say to them. But we also have many pastors and leaders in our classes. Murray just has a way of teaching the really deep stuff in a way that everyone can get it.

I feel confident in my prophetic gift, may I skip 1st Year, and go to 2nd year? No. 1st Year is important, no matter how advanced you are. It is also about building relationship & trust and a safe place for everyone.

How do I become a volunteer? To become a volunteer, you must have fully completed 1st year to volunteer for 1st year, and 2nd Year to volunteer for 1st or 2nd Year, etc. There is a volunteer application form to fill out if you are interested.

Are there benefits to being a volunteer? Yes. Not only do you get to be refreshed with Murray’s teaching again, you have the chance to build relationships with the new classes. You will also be able to attend all Samuel’s Mantle conferences for the year for no charge, and attend/download the, “Prophecy from a Healed Heart” Training for FREE.

May I occasionally be a volunteer, and show up to a class a couple times a month? No. To be a volunteer requires commitment to help create a safe environment in the classes.

I dropped out of 1st year half way through the year. Can I go to 2nd year without completing 1st Year? In this case, we recommend that you watch all the videos you have missed, and get caught up. The 1st Year of Samuel’s Mantle is very important to complete before continuing on to 2nd Year.

I am interested in joining 4th Year Samuel’s Mantle, but I cannot be there every week.  Yes, you may drop-in but please contact us first.

Steve Schroeder Born and raised in Vancouver BC, Steve has been involved in and surrounded by a wide variety of Leadership all his life. Connectedness, Strategic, Ideation, Learner, and Restorative, are a few words that describe Steve’s gift mix. He currently serves as the President of the CMA (Christian Ministers Association), a ministerial fellowship of leaders across the Nation of Canada. Steve pastored for over 25 years as well as served a term in Civic Government as an elected City Councilor. Steve’s passion is to come along side leaders and help them hoist the sails of their ministry and calling so they can reach their fullest potential. He has been married to Silvia for over 27 years and has four wonderful Children.

Trish Warren has been involved with Samuel’s Mantle since its inception in the year 2000.  Trish is a small business consultant & trainer in the Lower Mainland, and she is the Marketing Director of Samuel’s Mantle and she is also responsible for Samuel’s Mantle books, filing and charity status.  Trish’s passion in life is equipping and training, and her mission in life is to inspire, empower and compel people to do their talents with passion.   Trish is a Dalhousie University graduate, where she studied Theatre and Education.  She also is a certified Elijah House Councilor. Trish lives in Chilliwack with her wonderful husband Bruce, has 5 children with 2 at home still, and works alongside her husband Bruce as pastors of the Catch the Fire Chilliwack Church.

Brian West has been involved in Christian leadership for over two decades in various capacities (Pastoring, Camp Directing, Worship Leading, Itinerant Speaking, and Recovery from Addictions to name a few). Brian has also been involved in prayer ministry to see the “captives set free.”  He has a heart to serve the local church(s) and to see the body of Christ equipped to reach into the world with an authentic faith. Brian loves to see people come alive in their faith and realize that God is actually communicating with His people today. He is currently Overseer of Freshwind Ministries. Brian is involved with various churches helping people understand team concepts in the context of listening prayer. Brian has been married to a wonderful girl named Sue for the last 26 years and currently resides in Abbotsford, BC.  They have three awesome kids – Jordan, Ashley, and Amanda.
